Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when using the Movilo mobile application and how user privacy is protected.
Movilo is a step counter and activity tracking application available for Android and iOS. It allows users to track daily steps, estimate walking distance and calories burned, monitor activity history, view statistics, set daily goals, and unlock achievements.
1. Information We Process
Movilo does not require users to create an account, sign in, or provide identifying information such as their name, email address, phone number, home address, or precise location to access its main features.
However, the application processes certain activity-related information locally on the device to provide its functionality.
This information may include:
- Daily step counts
- Activity history
- Dates associated with recorded activity
- Daily step goals
- Estimated walking distance
- Estimated calories burned
- Height and weight entered by the user
- Step length settings
- Achievement progress and unlocked badges
- Application preferences
This information is used to provide the application's core features and is designed to remain stored locally on the user's device.
2. Step Counting and Motion Data
Movilo uses motion and step-counting capabilities available on supported devices.
On Android, the application may use the device's step counter sensor and the Physical Activity permission to record steps.
On iOS, Movilo uses Apple's Core Motion framework and may request permission to access Motion & Fitness information.
The collected step information is used to:
- Display the user's daily step count
- Track progress toward daily goals
- Calculate estimated distance and calories
- Generate activity statistics
- Maintain activity history
- Unlock achievements and badges
- Update supported widgets and notifications
Movilo's core step-counting functionality is designed to process and store activity information locally rather than upload it to a developer-operated server.
3. User Settings and Body Measurements
Movilo allows users to personalize the application by entering information and selecting preferences.
These settings may include:
- Daily step goal
- Height in centimeters
- Weight in kilograms
- Automatic or custom step length
- Preferred distance unit
- Light, dark, or system appearance
- Preferred application language
Height, weight, and step length may be used to estimate distance traveled and calories burned.
These calculations are estimates and should not be considered exact medical measurements.
User settings are stored locally on the device to preserve preferences between application sessions.
4. Activity History
Movilo stores recorded step history locally to allow users to review previous activity.
The application may store daily step totals, associated dates, and information used to calculate activity summaries.
This information enables users to review past activity and monitor progress over time.
Activity history is not designed to be automatically transmitted to the developer or uploaded to an external account.
5. Statistics and Progress Tracking
Movilo provides statistics based on locally recorded activity information.
Statistics may include:
- Total recorded steps
- Daily average steps
- Weekly and monthly activity summaries
- Estimated walking distance
- Estimated calories burned
- Personal activity records
- Daily goal completion rates
- Activity streaks
- Activity charts and calendars
Statistics are generated from available activity data and are intended to help users understand their walking habits and activity progress.
6. Achievements and Badges
Movilo includes an achievement system that rewards users for reaching walking milestones and completing activity-related goals.
The application may store information about achievement progress, unlocked badges, and unlock dates.
Achievement information is stored locally and does not require a public profile or user account.
7. Home Screen Widgets and Notifications
On supported Android devices, Movilo provides a home screen widget that can display activity information such as:
- Daily step count
- Estimated walking distance
- Daily goal progress
Widget information is obtained from locally stored activity records and application settings.
Movilo may also display notifications related to active step tracking and newly unlocked achievements.
Notifications may contain step counts or achievement details and may be visible on the lock screen depending on device settings.
Users can manage notification permissions and visibility through their device settings.
8. Local Data Storage
Movilo uses local device storage to maintain information necessary for its functionality.
Locally stored information may include:
- Step history and daily totals
- Activity statistics
- Daily goals
- Body measurements and step length settings
- Achievement progress
- Selected language
- Selected application theme
- Distance unit preferences
- Other application settings
The application may use a local database and device preferences to maintain this information.
Core activity records are not designed to be uploaded to a developer-operated server.
Operating system backup and device migration services may process some locally stored data according to the user's backup settings and the relevant service provider's privacy policy.
9. Application Permissions
Movilo may request access to certain device features that are necessary for its functionality.
- Physical Activity (Android): Used to access step-counting information from supported device sensors.
- Motion & Fitness (iOS): Used to access motion and step information through Apple's Core Motion framework.
- Notifications: Used to display information about active tracking and unlocked achievements.
- Foreground Service (Android): Used to maintain active step tracking when the application is not visible, where supported and permitted.
Based on its core functionality, Movilo does not require access to precise GPS location, contacts, camera, or microphone to count steps.
Users may review or revoke applicable permissions through their device settings. Restricting permissions may prevent certain features from working correctly.
10. Advertising and Analytics
The version of Movilo described by this Privacy Policy does not include in-app advertising, third-party analytics, or behavioral tracking SDKs.
Movilo does not use its core activity data for targeted advertising.
If future versions introduce advertisements, analytics, crash reporting, or other third-party integrations, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the relevant data processing.
11. Internet Connection
Movilo's main step-counting, activity history, statistics, and goal-tracking features are designed to function without transmitting activity records to a developer-operated server.
Google Play, the Apple App Store, the operating system, and optional backup services may independently process certain technical, diagnostic, account-related, or installation information under their own privacy policies.
Movilo does not control the independent data processing performed by those providers.
12. Sharing Data With Third Parties
Movilo's core functionality is not designed to automatically share users' step history, body measurements, achievements, or application preferences with the developer or unrelated third parties.
If users manually share screenshots, messages, or other information outside the application, they control what information is shared.
If a user contacts us by email, we may process the email address and message content provided in order to respond to the inquiry.
13. Data Retention and Deletion
Activity history, achievements, and application settings are generally retained in local application storage until removed through available application or device controls.
Users can generally remove local application data by uninstalling Movilo or clearing application data through their device settings, subject to operating system behavior.
Some information may remain in device backups according to the user's backup service settings.
14. Data Security
Movilo is designed to store its main activity information locally on the user's device.
This reduces routine transmission of activity information over the internet.
However, no electronic storage method or device can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are encouraged to protect their devices with appropriate security measures, including screen locks and operating system updates.
15. Children's Privacy
Movilo does not require users to create an account or submit their name, contact details, or precise location to access its core functionality.
The application is not specifically designed to collect children's personal information.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise application permissions and general device usage by younger users.
16. Fitness and Health Disclaimer
Movilo is intended for general fitness, activity awareness, and personal motivation.
Step counts, walking distance, estimated calories burned, and activity statistics are provided for informational purposes.
The accuracy of these values may depend on device sensors, user settings, and individual walking patterns.
Movilo is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, or monitor any medical condition.
Users should not rely on the application for medical decisions or professional health recommendations.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the application's functionality, permissions, data processing practices, or third-party integrations change.
Any updated version will include a new revision date at the top of this page.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
